Mr. Englett has spent nearly 20 years leading technology organizations delivering products and services to customers in healthcare, law enforcement, intelligence, marketing, training, logistics and engineering. His consulting background has included working with large organizations such as Scripps Health, Baptist Health of South Florida, L-3 Communications, the United States Census Bureau, the United States Departments of State, Homeland Security, and Defense, the Executive Office of the White House as well as, most recently, Influence Health.
Judson is passionate about integrated data systems combined with strong analytical tools. He believes that most technological challenges experienced today are the result of inefficient workflows or broken operational models that prevent technology from performing effectively for clients. His career has been focused on driving these inefficiencies out of systems, thus helping customers meet their full potential. This passion also aligns with Whiteboard’s vision to deliver the right technical solution to meet each client’s needs while optimizing financial performance and user experience.
Originally from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Judson has resided in Birmingham, Alabama for the last 4 years with his wife and 3 children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and experiencing the recent food, beverage and music explosion in the Birmingham area.
After months of demolition, renovations, cleanings and inspections Whiteboard it christened its new street-level office space last evening with a VIP reception and ribbon cutting. The office is located in the former A&A Ash Jewelers space on the corner of 20th Street and 2nd Avenue North, in the heart of downtown.
The new design has created a sleek usable space that marries the old and new. The space will be utilized for training and employee collaboration as well as speakers and after-hours meetups. In addition to the open-concept downstairs, the mezzanine level has been glassed in to reveal an office and conference room.
Opening this space helps bring new life and erase one more vacant space as this area continues to expand and revitalize. This move firmly establishes downtown Birmingham as the home for Whiteboard for many years to come. As one employee stated, Whiteboard is “helping to make Birmingham a growing area for the tech industry.”
Columbus Orthopaedic Clinic and its on-premise Outpatient Center are growing by leaps and bounds! Today, Whiteboard it launched a new website, designed to not only showcase the staff and services of this state of the art Mississippi facility, but also to streamline communication. The Clinic alone can see upwards of 500 patients per day and that means A LOT of phone calls. Everything from prescription refill requests, patient inquiries, appointment requests, directions, and job applications are now routed through the new site, to reduce the volume of calls to the Clinic. Whiteboard took on the significant challenge of streamlining both external and internal communications via a custom CMS which routes a specific request to the appropriate staff member responsible for that task. In addition to facilitating communication, patients can now access all the forms necessary for a visit and have them printed and filled out prior to arrival, expediting the appointment process as well.
Along with these added functionalities, Whiteboard did a complete design overhaul, creating a fresh new look, and vibrant themes that can be easily changed with the seasons. The fully responsive site also features a custom “Scrapbook” that captures the lighter side of the community and staff, via integration with an Instagram account.
Not only is the website expanding but, as the Birmingham Business Journal reported in October 2014, Brasfield & Gorrie should be completing an 8,000 square foot addition in the next few months! Congratulations!

Whiteboard it is pleased to announce our CEO, Martin Murphy and one of our lead developers, Duncan Smith, have been accepted to the initial round of the 2015 Alabama Launchpad Start-Up Competition! Martin and Duncan have submitted a product, Peon, via their start-up entity, Wizard Lounge Software. Peon is a time-tracking app for developers, so they can focus on writing code instead of filling out time sheets.
The eleven selected teams are competing for a share of $250,000 to help grow the business further. The initial pitch round will be January 23, 2015, at Evonik Industries. The free, public, event begins at 9:00 am. Whiteboard will keep everyone posted on Martin and Duncan’s progress, please wish them luck!

Whiteboard is pleased to announce our client Bidsters will be officially open for business this Friday, June 6!
Bidsters is an Alabama Launchpad winning company, founded by University of Alabama College of Engineering graduate Ben Bickerstaff. The idea for Bidsters came while working as a co-op employee for a construction company during college. The proposal process for General Contractor and Subcontractors is very time consuming and Ben is hoping Bidsters can fulfill the shortcomings in the existing system.
According to a Press Release from the University of Alabama, “Bidsters will not change what the construction industry does, but it will give them a tool to more easily do what they already do,” Bickerstaff said. “Bidsters gives users the ability to manage and interact with their already existing network, but it also gives them the ability to find new contacts outside of their established relationships.”
Whiteboard has been proud to assist Ben in the development of this site and look forward to continuing to work together to grow the Bidsters network. In fact, Phase 2 is already in the works! Whiteboard it is one of Birmingham’s most influential software development companies. As our Videographer Intern, you will be responsible for capturing various types of videos in, around, and outside of the office. You will then edit your videos to provide a creative and informative experience for viewers, and collaborate with other design professionals in the office to finalize projects for publication. Final projects will be used for the Whiteboard website and also for PR purposes for the company. If chosen for this position, you will leave equipped with a large portfolio of videos, software industry experience, and an understanding of how your skills may best be utilized in a workplace setting.
This is an unpaid summer internship.
The successful candidate will have:
- Your own camera equipment.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following software (Adobe Premier, PowerDirector, Corel VideoStudio Pro.)
- A creative eye for design, photography, and imagery.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to produce projects on deadline.
- An open mind and the ability to work well with others in a team setting.
- Self motivated.
